Time on the (bike) Trainer

I am coming up on my 7 weeks post surgery. One week of being weight bearing again. I’ve got a long way to go, but I am very happy right now; I rode my bike on a stationary trainer.

I didn’t do much, but I did pedal. Before the surgery, I couldn’t even pedal.

Yesterday, I did about 3-5 minutes on the trainer. My knee was a little tight, so took it very easy. Today, I felt better all around. After a lot of stretching and my regular exercises, I got on the bike again. My knee was very loose and not popping at all.

I spent about 8 minutes pedaling with almost no resistance. It took about a minute or so to loosen up and then it felt good. I can tell that all of the supporting muscles in my back and arms are shot too. I plan to go very slow and conservatively, so everything should have time to recover well.

So, I am happy now. I have a long way to go, but I am glad I am going in the right direction.
